Dthala in
1906 part 2



The photograph above is the
Dthala camp of the Hampshires in
1903. The second photograph below was taken by Company Sergeant
Major William Tait and shows the camp occupied by the KOSB
as it looked in 1906. The cross marked on the tent to
the right of the second photograph was Williams.

William Tait enlisted
for the King's Own Scottish Borderers on the 17
August 1894 at Glasgow at the age of 19 years
and five months. He served in India and the
Great War and was awarded the India General
Service Medal with clasps Tirah 1897-98 and
Punjab Frontier 1897-98; the 1914 Star; the
British War Medal; and the Victory Medal. His
medals are on permanent display at The King's
Own Scottish Borderers Regimental Museum located
in Berwick-upon-Tweed, UK.
