I would like to go to Aden and volunteer to check on
the names and see the Grave Sites. It would be a great
honour to do to fallen soldiers or otherwise. We had
many good friends. The Danish Missionaries, Martha and
Mary were our family friends. They brought in one
million to build a school at CRATER Aden, It was in the
process of building when the secret police came and took
over. Also their cars they left it with us; a Fiat 500,
BUT we could not sell it as the R.C. Papers were not
allowed to be changed.
There was one Mr and Mrs. Smith who worked with the Aden
Cable and Wireless company at Gold Mohur. They used to
worship along with us at the Sailor's Club at Tawahi at
Aden. The shop ie. Oriental Pharmacy I recognise it
belonged to one Mr. Koshy. They were patients and became
family friends. Also there was one Mr. Mubgar, who was a
prominent figure ie. the ATTORNEY GENERAL to the Govt of
Yemen. I came to know recently that he died after
fleeing to North Yemen. My dad taught his wife driving
car. My dad ran a car sale purchase business at
Khormaksar. We used to buy cars of all makes, German,
Italian fiat 500. 600, 850, 1100 and 2100 cc.
My mother had a very prominent role as a Leading doctor.
She worked at the Al Gamhouria Hospital at Khormaksar.
I did not become a doctor, because we lived at Aden, I
could not get Admission to get a seat in medical college
in India. Now I am in forties I still dream of studying
medicine. I have doctor friends in US. Who are willing
to help me get admission to medical college. I have a
dream of working for the Yemeni people. People of Yemen
have nice hearts, but if you do real service they are
willing to give hearts. Like the thought of business is
flawed because of Govt restrictions and red tapism and
going through the process of Chamber of Commerce. Yemen
is relatively poor and they have all the bureaucracy.
I can manage some funds to go to a medical college and
see my self become a doctor and return to Aden to do
some years of medical service. This is just a dream. I
think you can put this on the net and some one is out
there to support me, I could think of it.
Aden is changing a lot. New things are happening I like
to go and visit. Some time in December usually when it
is not really hot.
I hope to hear your views and comments and we can keep
actively involved in making your website successful.
It needs constant review and updating and contacting
people who have genuine interest.
Yours Sincerely,
