Story from Saeed Hussein
To my father
his time with
Aden Airways is unforgettable. He always remembers it
because he worked as an air steward for many years when
he was a young man. I remember too sitting in the
cockpit of a DC3 with the pilot and the co-pilot flying
toward a small city called ERIGAVO located in north
eastern part of Somalia.

In our home in
Erigavo my father has lots of pictures, books,
magazines, and even post cards of Aden and
Aden Airways.
I remember one picture in which he is holding the
shoulders of the pilot and co-pilot in the door of this
lovely plane while it is on the tarmac of the
rural airport of Erigavo.
My father believes this job was the best in his life,
and we believe too because Aden at that time was in a
golden age. I remember my father dressed in his white
uniform; the white shirt, the white trousers and the
beautiful white hat.
Father always remembers the pilots and his workmates in
the sixties. My father lives now in Erigavo as an old
man with wonderful memories.
