A DeHavilland Mosquito B35 converted to TT35
specification and registered TA686 lost power on take-off
and crashed into a wood in Schleswig on 17th October
1957. It appears the young pilot, Masterson, had
forgotten the fuel tank changeover
cocks. He was killed in the crash.
This was one of three known crashes of Mosquitos
at RAF Schleswigland during the British time
at the base. |
