Tony Blackburn
"I was born 19th March 1938 and joined the RAF in 1955 from the recruiting office at Pownall Square, Liverpool. I did my squarebashing at West Kirby and my trade training (Engine mech [pistons]) at RAF Weeton. My Service number was 3521824.
My first posting was to RAF Sylt and then to RAF Schleswigland with 26 Squadron, RAF Ahlhorn, RAF Gutersloh, and finally to RAF Manby. I worked on Mossies, Hunters, Varsities, Valettas and Lincolns.

I left the service in 1960 and joined the Lancashire Constabulary from which I retired as a sergeant in 1988. I have done a patchwork quilt of jobs since then and am now retired and getting the state bung.
I was born a half scouser (Huyton) but now I'm living in Preston area. Best wishes to any of my contemporaries out there."
