Tony is described by friend Jim Wingett as a 'man about town' and a great drinker, whose smile disarmed many a fraulein!

The guy with the striped cardigan is Cpl. Jeremy Francis (Gerry). Behind and to his right is Cpl. Anthony Towers. Gerry left the RAF and became a professional diver. He was to lose his life alone in the cold and dark North Sea years later.  Rest well Gerry. Fred Wells in the front row somewhere." "Ginger" Riley is the tall chap in the back row centre. Just below Ginger to his right is Tony Blackburn
